Subject: This show rocked !!!
It took me and my buddies four hours to get to the Beacon from Long Island and five hours to get home. Man was it worth it though. They were on fire from the opening note. So glad I didn't bail. I came close.

listening to this today makes me wish i was at s.o.b.'s tonight!

both trey and larry are blistering. barraco and osborne are the rock steadies. phil, as always, is the man. this stands up to several listenings and keeps floating to the top of the pile.

thank you phil; thank you archive.

Subject: ANTICIPATION STATION
If you're planning on going to any of Phil's upcomming summer tour shows, don't listen to this one unless you are ready to burst from your skin with exited anticipation. Fifteen days and seven long hours to go till the show. Thought I was exited before this download. Thank you Phil. You are an inspiration to all of us. I can only hope to have as long a strange trip.

This show is ROCKIN'. Man, I wish I didn't have a full-time job (you know, where you earn pay and stuff...ah forget it) otherwise I'd be on this damn tour the whole summer...looks like it's going to be one of the best.

Subject: Thank you, Phil, for keeping the spirit of the GD alive!
I DL'd this show in mp3 from nugs.net for my iPod and it was so killer that I came here to the archive to DL in flac so I can save this baby on CDR. I don't burn a lot of shows these days, as the iPod has really changed the way I listen to music. But killer shows like this need to be backed up on CDR because I KNOW FOR SURE that I will be listening to this for years to come - long after I've deleted it from my iPod.

Phil is just amazing. He's at an age when he could be sitting on his posterior looking back on a life filled with great accomplishment. Instead, he's out in blizzards making AWESOME music! Man, what a role model he is for all the other musicians -- and for we "ordinary folk," too.

This show just sizzles from beginning to end. I'm not a big Phish/Trey phan, but his work here really made me want to take a second look at his solo stuff. I miss Chris Robinson on vocals! He added a much-needed dimension to the band, vocal wise. (No, I'm not gonna complain about Phil's singing!)

OK, I'll shut up and finish downloading this. I recommend this show highly. The Watchtower is sizzling and, well, the whole show ROCKS.

THANKS, PHIL!!!!

Subject: phils voice
I was at this show and it was fantastic. I am not a Phish fan by any means and Trey was amazing this night. This was the day of NYC biggest snowstorm in however many years (40?). As for Phils vocals I am and always have been a huge fan of his singing. Phil had been losing his voice and it was completly gone by the end of the show. So Rob B. gave the donor rap because phil couldn't even talk let alone sing. The Other One is a version unlike any other I have heard Phil do. LOVE IT!! Enjoy the show all. AS ALWAYS,THANK YOU PHIL!! Subject: phil is on phire
yeah you can say phil's vocals may be weak, but the man is 66 years old, so c'mon. think of it like that and he is the greatest.

Now this is to me a great soundboard. THe 2001-03 lineup had the best sound ive ever heard from any band not just the jam band scene. I think they even sounded better than the GD days.

I'm too young to have ever had the chacne to see jerry in person, but Phil is doing a great job keeping the spirit of the dead alive.

Is Phil a leader by example or what? Who else takes care of their listeners so well with these amazing DSBDs? Very few. When are all the others going to see the light? Thanks Phil!

Subject: Version 2006 Great Show
Great Sound, Setlist, and Phil is yet again endlessly pushing on and on and on into the further explorations of these tunes. Trey's guitar is more of a rock thin tone than the phat garcia tone - that said trey (like popper on harp) also likes the repetitive rock hero icon high notes better than garcia. Keys are very nice in this show and phil is wielding the sword of musical truth quite nicely. I think I saw a blowfish being pulled through a snapdragon during Slipknot! And yeah Franklins at about minute 6 has a push on til the day riff.

I'm not sure what a lot of the reviewers are talking about, the vocals might be a little off in a couple spots but this show is HOT---Do not listen to the haters just download this show!!! Thanks again Phil for another outstanding DSBD.

Subject: worth hearing
This show looks great on paper and there are some great jams here, but the singing is poor. Especially Phil. And the chemistry with Trey isn't always there. It would have been a ton of fun to be at this show, but there are much better Phil and Friends SBDs to be had.

I agree, the vocals are a little weak, but what a good show. Digital soundboards also always sound a little weak in the bass to me, but I compensate before I burn to disk. Excellent show.

Subject: Good show but vocals weak
I've quite enjoyed the show and agree with the comments regarding high quality, but I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that the vocals are very low in the mix. Am I the only one noticing this? In listening to some of the audience versions of the show, the same problem exists. I had hoped this would be solved with the soundboard, but evidently, the issue was in the actual mix. Again, not a knock against the show.....playing is very nice.

Subject: Grateful Birthday Wishes
thank you Derek!!! there are a lot of very deverved thanks to be made here, but no one thanks the mix master. ?? so much work goes into something that sounds this good, not the least of which come from the sound techs. Joan & Trey do an awesome watchtower and Jeff & Rob are solid throughout the show. St.Stephen has some pretty good jams from Trey, but they come too early and overshadow Rob's piano and then interupt the vocals "Wrap the babe in scarlet covers, call it your own". this Stephen was all over the place. Rockin' Cryptical though! thanks Phil for all that you've shared with us and all that you are. i'm still waiting for the day when you walk out on stage with your trumpet. Here's to a Thousand More Grateful Birthdays for all of us. see you @ ROOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Subject: Love this Tour
The sound quality and song selection are both fantastic, and the band is in fine form. That being said, unlike Warren's appearence the previous night, Trey doesn't really benefit the performance. He is a talented musician, but his guitar is shrill and grating. The other guitarists were forced to hang back too often. Lastly, I just want to thank Phil for continuing to put out this fantastic music, and for keeping the spirit alive.

This is why I love archive.org! This show crackles with energy from the first note! I love the Loose Lucy! Listen to Phil say goodnight! He gave the Beacon everything! Never ever underestimate the Beacon! Trey Anastasio and Joan Osborne add to this magic! Even Garcia would be proud!
